But I agree with the processed and/or sugary foods comment!

I'm also in search of a good mid-evening snackaroony, not just because of the tryptophan content, but also because I may be waking in the middle of the night because of low blood glucose. I've got a fairly rip-roaring metabolism. Something that contains protein or fat is helpful for me because it slows digestion and allows for prolonged moderate blood glucose levels.

A banana with peanut butter is the next snack I'm trying (I always loved that as a kid, and the banana contains some tryptophan).
