Hi rick,

How long have you had insomnia? Do you know the root of your sleeping difficulties?

Regarding the over-the-counters; I go through periods where I take Benadryl (the active ingredient in most over the counter sleeping meds is diphenhydramine, an antihistamine)which seems to help me get sleepy. However, I almost never enter the 4th stage of sleep (deep sleep) and consequently am always exhausted.

Why do you take 8-10? Have you tried taking less? What does that do for you? I usually only take two benadryl. I don't think it is possible to become physically addicted to those meds, but
I think you can become psychologically addicted.

Hope this helps,
B
