Hi..Sorry for all your troubles.I don't know if Ambien is directly related to your problem, but all medications or at least most eventually land up causing digestive problems in some way. They destroy the stomach lining because they are so acidic, and also interfere with muscular movement and peristalsis in the intestines.I don't know too many people who are on an assortment of drugs that consequently don't have intestinal problems also. Most people on sleeping medications especially benzos have the opposite effect of constipation which is also linked to depression. But believe it or not going many times can still mean that you are constipated internally. Are you drinking enough water? Try drinking 8 glasses of 8 oz daily to rehydrate your bowel. Also what kind of diet do you eat? If you are eating alot of processed foods which contain alot of chemicals and preservative this could enhance the problem. Your body doesn't really know what to do with these things other than try to eliminate them because they are not vital for any digestive proceses. Other than that I know when people are anxious they tend to need to urinate frequently but maybe this is an anxiety reaction also.Well that is all I can think of.I hope you can find some peace. Hope
