Thought I'd suggest an alternative to Sol's suggestion for focusing on the physical symptoms of anxiety.

Sol's idea is great -- concentrate on making the knot in the stomach go away, for example. This distracts the mind and can be quite successful.

However, if you have difficulty with this, one alternative is just to accept that the knot is there, and notice that, hey! it's just a knot -- some enteric neurons firing. What's the big deal? Recognize that the symptom is there and 'float' through it.

Sometimes the physical symptoms of anxiety can cause a snowball/avalanche effect. The symptoms are scarey and make you more anxious, then that makes the symptoms worse, etc., etc.
