Jim,
Hey, that's my story!! In fact, it's damn near identical (albeit maybe for different reasons). I was about 21 when the hell began. I always used to be a sound sleeper with no difficulties falling or staying asleep. I was never the type to sleep in late, however, not even as a teenager. About 5 1/2 years ago something changed. I do think now, that everything was sort of building up, sort of like a dam breaking, and my immune system became overloaded. (Sorry, I go on tangents sometimes, it's just that your story sounds so much like mine) Anyway, back to the present moment. I am always exhausted. There is no other way to say it. I sleep for 5-8 hours (usually) and NEVER feel rested. This is a reality that even after almost 6 years of suffering I find myself completely unwilling to accept. I remember myself when I could sleep, not like this.

I completely empathize with you. I find that most people don't have any idea what its like not to be able to get any rest at all. Have you been to a sleep lab? I have considered it, but from what I understand they are very expensive, and really only help with apnea and the like. I think diet has a tremendous effect on our system, especially one whose system is already taxed. You may want to consider a glucose tolerance test to determine if you are hypoglycemic and also an adrenocortex stress profile to see about your adrenal function.

Sorry this is so long. I have a lot to say I guess. If you want to talk more, respond to this and include your e-mail address and I will write you.

B
