Since my last writing, I saw my doc. We are doing the same as your doctor has suggested. Taking 200 Provigil in the A.m., a small bit of Ritilin at 2:00 p.m. (I may need to increase this) and then Klonopin and Imiprimine at bedtime. He thinks that my irritability has to do with too much REM which was previously suppressed by the daytime load of Ritilin. Without the Ritilin, the REM nightmares were coming back. The Imiprimine is to help suppress REM, the Klonopin helps to keep the "gate" closed to keep any sneaking REM from crossing over into my sleep cylce when its not supposed to. He also said that the hormones contribute....he has a few other female patients who have outrageously high Progesterone levels and they have troubles around the start of their period. When I was on Ritilin only I would notice the terrible fatigue the day before I would start...so I shouldn't be suprised that there are other wierd effects with the Provigil. I will continue to try the Provigil as I don't feel so up and down as I used to. I feel calmer (now that the period has started!) - maybe the Imiprimine is helping that too. I am dreaming and remembering, but the dreams aren't disturbing. He says that the disturbing dreams take a toll on our emotions and they during wake, we don't control ourselves as well. He also added that Narcolepsy makes your life miserable...gee, like I didn't know that while sitting in his office sobbing. Anyway, I do really like my doc and feel blessed that he is willing to listen and try all options and combinations. Thanks for writing back...good to know I'm not the only one feeling crazy right now.
