Boy, do I feel like I've been living in a cave for the past 9 years!!!!! I am 37 (as of tomorrow), and was diagnosed with narcolepsy 9 years ago, after 8 years of different testing (sugar, mitro-valve, etc...etc.) to find out what was wrong with me. Anyways, I've been on Cylert for the past 9 years (wow, can't believe it has been that long), and just went for my yearly check-up (which consists of 10 minute consultation with my neurologist, and 8 of those minutes we discuss weather, etc), and only because I brought up the question about the new drug, he switched me to provigil. He said basically that it is safer, and there are no side effects. I asked him about how safe is it to take if I were to get pregnant and he said he didn't know, but would look into it.

I have had so many of the symptoms you guys have listed, such as moodiness, nightmares, etc...but only thought of them as being normal, not from narcolepsy. I think I need to find another doctor in regards to this stuff!

I do have a question..well really alot of questions, but right now I'll limit them...#1, anyone here ever been on medication for narcolepsy and been pregnant? and #2, on the press release about provigil, it warned about taking this med and have mitro-valve, which I have....anyone else know anything about this?

Thanks for your input...I'm glad I found this site!!!

Tammy
