Michele,
Thanks for having the guts to talk about this stuff too. I'm still having troubles. I also increased my Provigil dose with a 100mg in the early afternoon which is working quite well, but now my birth control pills aren't working. I got a tremendous headache on Sat., hot flashes and then started my period two weeks early. Saw the O.B. on Monday and she said that the Provigil is definately minimizing the effect of the birth control. I take the b.c. because my progesterone is sky high...so all those symptoms are back. I'll have to start taking a much higher dose of b.c. and then wear a patch to help the headaches. These patches didn't help much in the past so she upped the concentration of those. So six different drugs running through me each day and a patch on my belly. And yes, I feel awfully moody too. I've had my first real fight with my boyfriend since we began dating 1.5 years ago and he won't even call me. I must be a wretch! The horrible thing is that I can't help it or control it. Its really an awful feeling to be trapped inside of some doom for no real reason. I'll see my narcolepsy doc tomorrow again and see what next. I've always abhorred the idea of taking antidepressents. I take one at night now because the dreams were getting disturbing. Now I'm considering asking for something for my daytime. I really don't want to be a monster and treasure my friendships so much. Its hard to find people out there who will try to understand folks like us....
Oh, another offer of advice....I asked my o.b. for a baseline liver panel and she agreed. I am concerned with all these meds filtering through my little liver....its just got to have some effect.Take care and good luck.
