Help, please

Posted by Gayle on April 12, 1999 at 16:38:13:

Tomorrow I go see my neurologist to hear about the results of my sleep study. Finally after 16 years of this, it looks like I'm going to get a diagnosis. The question is, will I get any help.

My doctor thinks I'm a hardcore alcoholic who is going to be popping amphetamines and boozing it up. He is probably not going to allow me any medication. What can I do instead?

Thanks,
Gayle

Incidentally, he based this diagnosis on the fact that I work part time in a bar, admitted that I do drink, and that I also admitted I had tried cocaine in college. I wouldn't touch the stuff now, but he doesn't believe me.
