Fired from my job

Posted by Lisa on April 13, 1999 at 16:42:02:

I was working at a large corporation in my town, and after a huge ordeal, was diagnosed with Narcolepsy in Dec `98. I was late to work a lot, but once my meds kicked in, worked harder & produced more than anyone. I was counseled twice, had my arrival time changed to 30 minutes later, but was still late. I was fired for tardiness, my supervisor said it had nothing to do with job performance. Now, I have hired an attorney, and am suing for my job back. If I came in late, I always stayed late to make up the time. My lawyer keeps asking me, if I set my alarm clock for the same time as when I had to be at work 30 minutes earlier, why was I still late after the schedule change? How can I possibly explain this to a jury who has never heard of & cannot possibly understand how difficult it is to try to deal with Narcolepsy without constantly focusing on only that? I don't want to be debilitated or appear weird (I'm a 24 year old single mom). Please help
