Have I or havn't I?

Posted by Tony Greenwood on April 20, 1999 at 16:09:39:

I have had problems since before I can remember..(I have been told I used to screan in my sleep when very little)
I don't recall..

However late teens to now 40+..I have problems that my doctor says is Narcolepsy..But reading this site only a few symptons are true but not the main ones..

At the point between wake and sleep..just before I sleep.. half awake.. I can have a sort of sezure, I can feel my body convulsing violantly..or I get sort of shocks shooting through my brain..and I struggle to make it/them stop.. sometimes it scares the heck out of me that I might not make it stop.. on the odd times I havent then I simply pass out... The strange thing is that my wife says nothing happens.. I am not shaking ? just nothing. yet I feel it is?

Also I suffer from very bad nightmares and same thing can happen on waking up to these.. sometime dissorientated in the morning trying to seperate fact from dream..

Whoops going on a bit ....to cut it short.. I was told this is narcolepsy , I was also told from a scan that I had a scar on my brain.. I don't have problems during the day..well unless in a supermarket and strange things happen from I think the flourecent lights..Just weakness..very weak.

but it doesnt seem like I have narcolepsy from what I see on this site........Anyone simmilar... any ideas ?

ta:)
