Tony --

You are right about the varying degees of Narcolepsey. My Dad has no other symptoms other than the vivid dreams at night. I've got the full tetrad of symptoms. You were talking about the "eletric shocks " feeling at night. I experience something similar when I am having an attack of sleep paralysis. It feels like I'm touching an electric fence and I can't move. You must get in for an overnight sleep study, it will really help.
As for the supermarket, prehaps you have a touch of agorophobia. I found out I was slightly claustrophobic after having a attacks of cataplexy in confined spaces. Weird way to discover a phobia, trust me.
