Prozac can mess up REM cycle

I had to have a second sleep study done because I was on Prozac and it screws up the REM cycle. So they had me stop taking it and did a second study. Never did go back on the stuff, either. It took three sleep studies to catch the Narcolepsy, but my second doctor was sure that I had Narcolepsy, so we just kept looking.

In most cases, narcolepsy patients are depressed because the narccolepsy is not diagnosed and therfore is not being treated. After my doctor and I discovered the right drug combination (parnate/provigil/ambien/mellaril) I haven't had any touble with depression.

Of course being sleepy is another matter.....
