I had a similar experience. My doctor told me that there was no such thing as narcolepsy and told me to "take up bowling." However, this was in the mid-seventies. Unfortunately, I went untreated for four more years.

With all of the information available today, I'm shocked that an M.D. could possibly be so ignorant.
