Hello to all. It has been a while. Trying to cope with things and stay off the computer a little more. However, I find that this is the place I always come back to, because it helps to remind me that I'm not a fruit cake. I am still being treated for Narcolepsy with Medications at this time. My first sleep study was "INCONCLUSIVE".I'm totally dying here. I went out on a limb to get that study. No insurance, so I will be paying for it forever. Yet, no answers. Everything...still inconclusive. Got mail from Standford. Since I don't have the genetic marker for Narc. it seems they are interested in my doing the drawing of the spinal fluid to test the orexin levels. I am very nervous about this thought, since there is a small doubt in my mind about having Narcolepsy due to the "Inconclusive" test. But, I read here all the time where folks have had two or three before finding a definite diagnosis. My heart and my body are sure that Narcolepsy will eventually be my formal diagnosis. I am just scared about having this fluid drawn, more so just for fear of negative results. That's crazy huh? I hoping that you all will tell me that, yes this is a step in the right direction and that I should go through with this for the sake of my diangosis, and also for the sake of helping others to learn more through this research. Am I right? Reatha
