I was living in Utah at the time that I had my drivers license revoked due to my condition of Narcolepsy. That was in 1996. I have since lived in South Carolina and Texas and am now in Idaho and have not been able to get a doctor to sign the necessary documentation to have my license reinstated.

I don't know what the law was that actually had my license revoked. (I could pull my copy of the letter, but too tired)But I do know that a military doctor whom had never seen me as a patient only heard about my condition via another soldier, sent a letter to the Public Safety Office. They in turn held some type of medical board and decided since Narcolespy is "uncontrollable" that until I go 6 months incident free, I can not even petition to have my license reinstated.

Now since it has actually been taken, every state I have been in tells me the same thing. I need a doctor to sign a release statement declaring that I am stable enough on my med's to drive safely! Well no doctor I have met yet is willing to put their own career on the line, and possibley the lives of others just because I want to drive.

It is a hard life living without a license. I have learned to adjust. I myself know I should not be driving as I have had too many "close calls".
