Provigil has been very good to me. But I was paying six bucks a pill for the first few months I used it. Eventually, my doctor got it straightened out by explaining to my HMO that it was safer than the alternative drugs: they had wanted him to try all the other ones they're used to covering first, then resort to Provigil if those didn't work. He talked them into covering it, although they won't do it at the normal low prescription rate of $5. I pay $25 a month, which is better than $150!

The company that makes Provigil may be able to help in the cost: there are a lot of past postings here where you can get details. Good luck!
