Posted by ExhaustedMom on December 07, 2000 at 06:47:45:I'm going back to the original MD today, for my week check-up on Prozac. I see the sleep MD on Tuesday- when I called the office to request a consultation and told the receptionist my situation with the original MD not believing that narcolepsy exists, she told me that the sleep doctor was going to love this one! She called me back in just short of an hour, with an appt for Tuesday AM! That is nothing short of a miracle for me. My poor husband is very frustrated with me lately, because I am so frustrated that this whole thing is taking so long to actually find out how they can help me. Bottom line, I just want to feel better so I can enjoy my life! I don't think the Prozac is doing it at all, and that would make sense if I'm not depressed. I'm only depressed because I feel my medical care had been less than optimal! I want to feel awake, alert, and be able to continue with my life. I have 3 kids that have learned to go with the flow when Mom's having a sleepy day, and they run with me like fools on an actual good day where I feel up to getting my running done in one shot. I finally woke up about 6PM last night, got all my Christmas shopping finished up, but then was toast by 10:30PM. SO, I got 4 1/2 good hours out of yesterday. Would really like more. ANyway, this new sleep MD is a respected neurologist from our town, and he's one of the pioneers in our area regarding sleep disorders. I'm hoping to come home with a clue about what to do, and I would like him to say that I'm not crazy, and that he can help me. I'll keep you posted after the visit. Thanks to all for listening- as good as my husband is, he still doesn't understand, and I need to talk to someone. Thanks again.
