Actually I only have that habit because this site suggests using their e-mail address to avoid spam. And I've used the same handle for years.
But yes, on this subject I, as well as others obviously are afraid to be named. I was really only curious as to whether my fears are founded in fact or fantasy. If anyone else responds to this topic, please DO use a fake name and the "somebody@sleepnet.com " address.
I would imagine this also brings up the topic of stating our impediment publicly also. My business partner thought I should let everyone at work know, but I never did. I'm sure this topic is part of why some of us treat the subject of N on a need-to-know basis.
I got scuba certified also, and you should have seen the "well gee I don't know" looks I got with that. But despite any risk involved, the last thing I wanted was to surprise an instructor with my problem under 100 feet of water.
I'm not cataplectic, and have only had unstoppable sleep while driving without meds. I only fear, as I stated before, that maybe even the state I live in would not judge licensability on the severity of the illness, but only on the illness label itself. I asked a lawyer and he didn't have a clue.
