Sleep Apnea and Narcolepsy.

Sleep Apnea and Narcolepsy are only associated because they both produce EDS or Excessive Daytime Sleepiness. If you have severe sleep disordered breathing or apnea, this should be treated first. Once treated successfully your sleep doctor can focus on the correct diagnosis of Narcolepsy. If you have a familial association with narcolepsy, it is likely you have narcolepsy. By the sound of things you may be suffering from two seperate and distinct sleep disorders.
