Over the counter drugs

Posted by Rob on December 11, 2000 at 10:26:30:

I'm not sure if I have Narcolepsy or if I just have bad sleep habits. I ussualy go to bed at 12 mid and wake at 8am. I get drowsy on some days but not all days. I have been in 3 car accidents from falling asleep at the wheel. I drive an hour each way to work. I don't know if it's the long drive or if it is a condition.

I know I should probably see a doctor for this but I'm stuborn and I would like to see if I can find an easier solution. I probably have a fear of the Dr. telling me there is something wrong with me.

Can anyone tell me if there are any over the counter drugs I can try that will keep me alert? My main concern is driving. I have tried caffine tablets but they make my chest hurt.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
