The time to develop full blown narcolepsy varies from person to person. The first symptoms, sleepiness or cataplexy, etc. will vary from person to person also.

Once narcolepsy is onboard it usually does not get worse over time. The level of severity will remain constant unless you start having an additional sleep disorder. Not uncommon to have more than one disorder.

So until their is a cure your symptoms should remain about the same.
