Dear Emrille,
Wanted to let u know, I have more cataplexy problems than narcolepsy. While I dont experience the nodding off mid sentence, but do have EDS, SP, and occassionally HH, the cataplexy is what is hardest to deal with or fit my life into. However, I do have the narcolepsy according to the neuro. He told me I cant have one without the other. I always managed in prior years to fit the narco into my life, now I fit my life into the cataplexy. If I am having a bad day, and boy can I tell when the cataplexy has me, I cant drive, walk, talk, hold onto anything. Anyway that is my peice.
The interesting thing is I have talked to many ppl with cataplexy who like me... thot everyone did this, I can recall having the cataplexy attacks as early as age 9 and not until age 38 with a stroke did it become uncontrollable for me. hmmm not so much uncontrollable, but Dramatic attacks that I didn't have an "aura" with. I can always tell when my head feels disconnected.... gonna be a fall down day...
hang in there. Yes, I am still trying to accept.Peace and Sleep Well
Sammy
