Heh. I posted a thread with the exact same topic. The URL is http://www.sleepnet.com/narco11/messages/363.html
Basically, the short answer is yes. Also, check out "Re: dead man walking" by rip if you want to get hold of more info. The URL to that one is http://www.sleepnet.com/narco11/messages/377.html
Some tips: Quit caffeine. It is more likely to keep me awake when I should be asleep than to keep me awake when I shouldn't. I've even OD'ed on it. It's not worth it.
Also, try to identify what keeps you awake. It is easier to solve problems knowing why you're awake at night. Finally -- in the "Didn't sleep during my MSLT" thread, note that w/ N, it is possible to fall asleep and not even realize it!
MOST IMPORTANT: TALK TO A DOCTOR. Please, though, be careful how you phrase things. If you have sleep paralysis (and you are sure about it), tell him that first. Any decent doctor will take paralysis seriously. Do NOT however, ever use the word "hallucination". Also, emphasize heavily any problems w/ dreams only happen when falling asleep/waking up and never when you're awake. Sometimes doctors may misinterpret it as meaning you're nuts. (I think I'll post a thread soon w/ my experience about this! It's unbelievable!)
