How long off meds prior to MSLT?

I recently had an eval with a neurologist who gave me a diagnosis of Idiopathic Hypersomnia. I am scheduled in 3 weeks for an MSLT. Last summer I was given a prescription for Provigil, but I only took a couple of pills and didn't take more because I didn't like the side effects. Last week I was in a solid week of meetings and I knew I would never be able to make it without meds. I took Provigil and it was like a miracle! I stayed awake and actually retained some information from the meetings. I feel like I'm alive again for the first time in years. My dilemma is this. Now that I know how much better I can function with the meds I don't want to discontinue them prior to the MSLT. Will I mess up my MSLT if I take the Provigil up to the last few days prior to it?
