The abstract was unclear, because the results
of the study are just very unclear...

The hypocretin mutation we reported, was a
real mutation, meaning that from the DNA
change you could prove that it directly
messed up the hypocretin production in
this patient (resulting in no CSF levels as well),
and we did not find this change in any
healthy person we screened.

The paper we are talking about now, describes
a dna change in 6 out 0f 180 people, that
they found in 1 out of 170 healthy people as
well. It is not possible to 'translate' this
change in a not working protein or something
else, so they have to do MUCH additional
studies to show what the effect is.
