Re: Paxil. What about Wellbutrin?

I used Paxil successfully for depression for about 4 years. I would be wary of making a judgement too soon, because it does take a few weeks to build up in your system.

For me, the Paxil took away my thoughts of suicide and kept me from crying all the time for no obvious reason. (Sort of a problem at work!) I just got diagnosed with N. last month, and don't have cataplexy, so I can't comment on that aspect.

I switched off the Paxil a few months ago because of the "sexual side effects" as the commercials say. (Think of starting a car in Zero degree temperature - once you get it running it's fine, but it sure takes a long time to warm up!)

I am now on Celexa, but it doesn't seem to be working very well. Lack of interest in activities and irrational irritability are worse than they ever were while I was on Paxil.

Has anyone had good or bad experiences on Wellbutrin?
