I wish I could offer brilliant answers to your questions, but can not.

Instead I wanted to thank you for a good chuckle. Your internal dialogue section really hit home. I am so glad to know I'm not the only one!

Since being married, my morning ritual now involves my hubby eventually forcing me out of bed after snoozing for 30-60 minutes - with the lights on. I try to start a conversation thinking that talking will wake me up. It doesn't, and I usually end up saying wierd nonsensical things in my half-awake state.

I've done the "wait this is a good song" and "I'll hit the snooze and maybe the next time will be a good song". It is funny how you can rationalize anything when you don't want to get out of bed!

Best of luck in getting help from a qualified Dr. I hope you are able to find one soon!
