I have been taking Provigil for about 1 1/2 yrs. now. The only side effects I have experienced (both on an intermittent basis) are a slight dry mouth and a strong smell to my urine. The dry mouth I handle by drinking a little more water and juice, the other I just ignore. Provigil works MUCH better for me than the other 2 meds. I have been on (Ritalin & Cylert). I was told by the neurologist/sleep doc that prescribed the Provigil that the drug has a pretty long half-life, especially compared to Ritaln. The half-live for Ritalin is something like 2-3 hours, and for Provigil I was told the half-life is more on the order of 10 hrs. plus.

When you think about side effects of various drugs prescribed for narcolepsy's many symptoms, remember that people like me who have no or only a few mild side effects of a drug are not likely to post anything on this forum.

Let us know how things come out.

Merrill
