hey pooh..obivously you realize there's no shame in having n and your friend doesn't. i agree with preacherman... don't push but here's a thought.
alone, by herself ... if you could get her to join us here and just share a little of how she feels. my guess is she's young and a bit timid anyway. here's what i'd tell her:
since you've been diagnosed with something you'll have for the rest of your life i can just assume that somewhere down the line you'll share your problem with others.
thanks for letting us be the first to listen to how you feel. from our hearts we offer you our experiances with going through exactly what you're dealing with now. we'll tell you how our medication works. not all of us we'll be on the same meds as you but for sure some of us will. we'll share our experiances with the docs who treat us and our family members and co workers who may not understand us and listen to yours. you'll read about our failures and our successes and hopefully you'll share yours with us. some of us have been on this rollercoaster for years and some are just getting started. some of us are total disasters at times..... who me???.. and when that happens you'll see others pick us up, encourage us, dry our tears and send us back on our way. they know we'll be there for them. and, you'll see that we always try to keep a sense of humor to it all.
most of all we offer the only place on earth where you don't have to explain why you are the way you are, why you're not like everyone else and why people may not understand you....... we already know, that parts a given.
and by the time you're ready to share your new self with others, whenever that may be, hopefully you'll feel comfortable enough with us to share that also.
that's kinda what i might say to her. thanks for reaching out to a friend who truly needs you now.
