should i see my doc?

Posted by ee on July 03, 2001 at 06:53:45:

i am wondering if i should ask my doctor about possible sleep disorders. i am always tired. i can sleep anywhere anytime. last night i got home from work and went right to bed at 5:30, the phone woke me at 8, i went back to sleep and slept til the phone woke me again at 12, then i slept til the alarm went off at 5:30. i am still tired. i almost always fall asleep on the bus or in a car, i don't drive much, but if i try and drive long distances i always feel like i am going to fall asleep. i've nodded off in meetings and sitting here at work. i don't feel like i fall all the way asleep but i can't keep my eyes open and often times i have very short little dreams. i always dream when i nap and more times than not they're weird bizarre dreams. i've been told i just sleep too much and if i just stop napping and going to bed so early i'll get used to it. is this true or do you think there's something more to it? while i write this it seems to me to be more serious than i thought, i skip things like grocery shopping, laundry, cleaning in favor of sleeping, i've napped through events i wanted to attend, i don't seem to have any time to get anything done because i constantly need to nap. if you asked my favorite past time, it would be napping.

thanks for any advice you can provide
