Allergy is not caused by medication which suppress the immune system for narcoleptic patients. please note that there is a possible connection between narcolepsy and autoimmune disorder. The symptoms of allergy is possibly related to the cause of narcolepsy. For narcoleptic patients, based on some unclear reason, their immune system destruct their self cells which is important for inhibiting abnormal sleep, thus, triggering abnormal sleep attacks wake state. According to the current research, the group of cells in brain can produce Hypocretin (a neurotransmitter). Of course, maybe there is other still unclear reason to cause narcolepsy.
Narcoleptic patients suffer from sleep attacks, but after having a short-time nap, many of them can feel refreshed. 1)For this, what substance level in brain change to release the sleep symptom temporarily? 2)What substance decrease or increase to trigger sleep attack?
It is a fascinate subject for narcolepsy research.
