Dear O,
Welcome back! My opinion is that you should call your doc. Your symptoms could be related to other problems (heart?) and it would help rule them out. They sound very similar to some my C attacks with the inability to open my eyes, but the SHORTNESS OF BREATH after the exertion of laffing & emotional burst can be related to heart problems. I also experience a feeling of not being able to fill my lungs when I have a C attack. BUT - I also have severe heart disease, so just to be safe I think you should call the doc. Too many times I have read & heard ppls stories, including my own about ignored heart symptoms because someone was "too" young. I am only 40 but had a silent MI when I was only 30. And doc said I have had blockages in my teens & early 20's. Dont mean to be a drama Queen here, but even if it was a Cataplexy attack at least maybe your doc could help you minimize them. Mine are relatively controlled now.
The severe Headache following the attack - have u ever experienced migraines? Was it like that? That sounds scary besides painful. Be sure to tell the doc that part too, u know the whole "pain is an indicator" thing. I wonder too how many of us N's experience migraines.
I miss Rip too....
Good Luck O and please keep me & others updated as to what u find out.
Peace and Sleep Well
Sammy
