Actuallly, he doesn't know it's cataplexy. After witnessing several attacks, some of the family thought it looked similar to narcolepsy. So, I looked up some info on N and found the description of cataplexy (with laughing). He thinks it was "caused" by laughing too hard with a pal when he was a kid. "Used to laugh till we fell down".

Thanks for your thoughts! I see that I can't do much, but will probably pass a little info to Mom in hopes he'll get a diagnoses. She worries a lot thinking he's having a stroke or something.
