Provigil and High Blood Presure

Posted by Tom Thumb on July 14, 2001 at 17:31:43:

IF YOU TAKE PROVIGIL, THEN MONITOR YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE

I have had narcolepsy for over 40 years. I have maintained my narcolepsy and cataplexy using dexidrine and imiprimine. Last week I decided to try Provigil and lucky for me my doctor told me to monitor my blood presure. I have been taking Prinivil for high blood for several years and when I started taking the Provigil, my blood presure went sky high (197/104) even with the Prinivil. I stopped taking the Provigil and went back on dexidrine and within about 48 hours, my blood pressure started to return to normal. If I had not monitored my blood pressure there was no way that I would have known that I had put myself at risk.
Take care out there!
