Posted by sleepygrl on August 14, 2001 at 15:33:48:Hi all
I have been spending quite a bit of time on the apnea forums as i have been dealing with severe OSA for about 5 years. I have taken a definte turn for the worse over the past year or so. I recently went in for a second sleep study about a month ago. They said my sleep patterns while on the cpap are great but i still feel horrible. I had a follow up consultation today and they have now scheduled me for a 2 day study (forget what that is called)
My grandmother had Narcolepsy. She would fall asleep at stop lights, if she laughed too hard, etc. I have not experienced anything like this. I wake frequently during the night, even with a cpap machine, and i am tired all the time. I do have to get up and walk around frequently to shake the cob webs.My question for you experts out there...Are there varying degrees of Narcoplepsy? Does this sound like this could pertain to me? At this point if i have this as well as the OSA, i'm cool with that, just tell me what to do to feel like a functioning human again!!
I appreciate any help or thoughts you have!
