The generic name for Provigil is modafinil (I think I have the spelling correct, you can at least check that on the Cephalon page).

As I understand it, nobody knows for sure how Provigil works. I think I remember reading that some think it is able to mimic the functions of hypocretin in maintianing wakefulness and alertness. Hypocretin is either not made or not processed correctly in the brains of people with narcolepsy.

Who's making you fill out the form? I'd think that would more logically be done by the prescribing physician...
