Student --

I had an ambulatory EEG when they were trying to figure out what was causing my EDS/fogging out episodes. The way I had been describing the eipsodes made my primary care doc and the neurologist he referred me to think of seizures as a possible cause.

As I understand it, the "narcolepsy gene" doesn't really mean much. A majority of the people with narcolepsy test positively for the gene (or genes, I seem to remember something about 2 genetic markers). However, about 1/3 of the people WITH narcolepsy also test positively for the gene(s). There are a couple of sleep docs who occasionally post on this forum, and maybe one of them can chime in with more info. on this topic (Jon or Sebastiaan, where are ya guys??)

Let us know how things are going...
