Glad we are finally talking honestly about alcohol

I'm convinced that alcohol helps with N. I sleep much better with alcohol. I know that alcohol is suppose to disrupt sleep by suppressing REM, but isn't our problem too much REM?
It also helps me stay awake at evening functions. I'm not talking about drinking into oblivion, but having a few drinks keeps me going and enjoying myself. Otherwise I get bored, sleepy, and basically just want to go home.

I don't smoke, but I do drink coffee at work to keep going.

Any thoughts?
