This is an awful story. Your doctor should have been better informed before giving a young girl this medicine! I have been diagnosed with Narcolepsy, but I have read a lot of the research on Idiopathic Hypersomnia, since I seem to have some of these symptoms (especially nonrefreshing sleep attacks). Some of the research seems to say that IH is even worse than N since it is less likely to respond to medications such as stimulants. Good luck, and I hope you find a great new doctor (maybe the younger doctors are a little better informed, the older ones seem to have developed an arrogance that makes it hard for them to learn anything new- just an observation from a 53 year old mother of two).
