Provigil dosages-- low vs high doses

Posted by Christy Ann on September 03, 2001 at 13:27:25:

My neurologist has a patient whose EDS is alleviated only when he takes 800mg of Provigil a day. On the other hand, some people report amazing results on as little as 100mg. Obviously, we all differ so the dosage has to be individually tailored.

However, on a fibromyalgia board that I sometimes read, there was a thread discussing how some people found that they got good results using SSRIs at an unusually low dosage-- like 5mg of Paxil. They found this out on accident after taking 10-20 mg a day and deciding to cut back. For some reason their body responded positively to the LOWER dosage, and they got no result at all to the high dose.

What I am wondering is if anyone here has DECREASED their provigil or other medications and found that it worked better that way? I do not mean lowering the dosage to avoid side effects.

Has anyone found that their EDS was *not* helped by a higher stimulant dosage but *was* helped when they went to a lower dosage?
