Hi there,

I've been N-diagnosed last year and take 200mg Provigil every morning. I remember that when I started taking it, I'd focus way too much on any headache, bitter taste, loss of appetite, back pain, knees itching etc... but on the long term, the only side effect I am quite sure of is a bitter taste in my mouth an hour after taking my meds and that's it.
At first, I still had sleep attacks in the afternoon but my MD told me that before taking more Provigil, I had to take more ...NAPS. And it works, it really does. 15-20 minutes no more after lunch really makes a difference. As for the cataplectic aspect, I too thought I had N without Cataplexy. I turned out that I did have Cataplexy, but under such a light form that I would never have noticed it otherwise ( When I laugh A LOT- the kind of laugh you only get once a month - my chin drops, with my arms and I can't speak ). I met a man with N that thought he didn't have C... untill he went fishing : it was the fish bitting the bate that triggered the cataplectic attack ! So when your MD told you that 'symptoms may progress over time', maybe he just meant that you were not aware of having C even though you may have it under specific conditions. After all, I use to think that not being able to finish a good joke was totally normal.

Bon week-end
