dreams, but not REM?

Posted by CHrisRinOz on October 07, 2001 at 23:22:24:

HI, just had my 2nd sleep study, and confirmed apnea, and now have an autoset machine., HOWEVER, like the last sleep study, no unusual onset of REM< no REM until a couple of hours of sleep passed etc.
HOWEVER, my experiences, and qstionnaire etc I still mentioned that i ALWAYS dream (or remember dreams) when having short afternoon naps, and if woken just half an hour or less after going to bed (by phone, or baby etc)

Sleep doc said (as did peviosu study, done at different city) that I *may* have N, though I have no cataplexy, and onyl had a few sleep paralysis 2 years ago.

What is really known about dreaming but NOT being in REM? What chances do I have N as well?

CHeers

Chris
