Hi Jayde,

I am also a student (graduate student in engineering). I was diagnosed with narcolepsy my sophomore year in undergraduate school.

I contacted my school's disability center with a letter from my physician and the center now sends letters to each of my instructors that explains narcolepsy. They also warn the instructor that I may need extra time to complete assignments and take exams. Since every college/university (in USA) is required to have such a department I would start there.

I also developed horrible headaches three months ago, and decided to forego the provigil. The headaches have almost disappeared and my mind is much clearer and I'm doing better in school.

My doctor put me on Parnate, a very old drug for narcolepsy (1960's). It has worked well, but you must control your diet (no cheese, beer or wine, sausage, anything fermented) and there are lots of medications that you can't take with the Parnate (Demoral can be lethel)

Hope this helps some.
