Hi there. Glad they gave you some kind of dx, so you can start on a treatment. My MD told me that often times people have to do 3 or 4 sleep studies- no, that's not a typo- to catch the abnormal REM stuff. Don't be discouraged, the results at least gave you enough of a diagnosis in order to get the Provigil started. Stick with the doc, and go from there. I know that it's frustrating- I had to wait almost a year to get all my stuff sorted out, and that's just the beginning with the meds, etc. Stay on top of things, and keep up with MD- the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Try what he/she prescribes, but if it doesn't help, tell them!! Then they can go from there and try something else for you. What's the goal here? We all just want to feel normal again. So, if they told me I had narcolepsy, or they told me I had some weird uncommon disease, I wouldn't care what the diagnosis is, as long as they can help me feel like myself again, right? Hang in there. It'll work out. Keep us posted!
