Please help me

I am a narcoleptic patient. I was informed that a new drug, Provigil (Modafinil),is effective for excessive daytime sleepiness(EDS), but I have never had the drug. Could anyone who have ever used Provogil please tell me whether or not uncontrollable sleepiness will return after discontinuation of Provigil (it mean that the drug do not have any effects on releasing EDS symptom a little after discontinuing it and it have no effects on the cause of narcolepsy at all)?
