Check out the job accomodation network at www.jan.wvu.edu. It has info about the American's with Disabilities Act. I believe students are covered under this. You may want to check out requesting an accomodation. I think they would have to made some sort of arrangements for you so that you could still attend school. I'd bypass the professor and go straight to someone in the administration office.
