Provigil and Bipolar disorder

Posted by Neurocadence on November 29, 2001 at 08:00:17:

I have Bipolar disorder. I also have sleep apnea and use CPAP. My sleep doc just prescribed previgil for exessive daytime sleepiness. My psych doc does NOT want me to take it because he said it would make me manic.
I am desperate to do something about my constant sleepiness
( it's not caused by my other meds, I have felt this way all my life it seems)
Yesterday I started the Provigil, 100mg and am supposed to go up to 200mg next week.
I am very curious if there is anyone else with Bipolar Disorder who is taking Provigil.
I haven't noticed a difference yet, but I suppose that takes time.
