My Provigil experience.

Posted by Quiet on December 02, 2001 at 09:28:03:

After reading through numerous posts I thought I would share my experience using Provigil.

I recently stopped taking it to figure out if the feelings I have are related to the Provigil or to the N. I have had some minor cataplexy - weakness of limb, numbness in face - since taking it related more to anger than to laughter. Stopping, I have found that these have decreased slightly buthave not gone away. I've been off for over a week - this is the second time I've done this and I have some observations.

Provigil does cause some mile Euphoria - explaining why some feel so good while on it.

For me it suppresses appetite - almost completely - I have to remember to eat.

I try to take only 100mg - because of expense. I take it in the morning and it lasts until about 5 or 6PM with a big lull about 2 PM.

I can nap while taking 100 or 200 - never tried more.

I can NOT nap as well - which is the key for me. I fell asleep a lot driving. I know the signs - loss of focus, wandering mind, the something like "falling" to the right - I can't explain this very well - but with Provigil this cycle starts and can be arrested.

Doesn't appear to impact my dreaming or nightly sleep.

After being off for a week, one pill worked well the next day. Continued use seems to decrease effectiveness.

That's all I can think of right now - I welcome other comments and experiences.
