It's possible to have more than one sleeping disorder (I have 4 - N, sleep apnea, nocturnal myoclonus and bruxism). Sounds like the sleep study confirmed N and sleep apnea. Have they talked about a CPAP machine for the sleep apnea or meds for the narcolepsy? Your symptoms of sleep paralysis, vivid dreaming and the feeling you could collapse sound related to the narcolepsy. Sleep apnea can cause many problems too and your narcolepsy can be worse with sleep apnea, since you are in a sleep deprived state. I too was treated for depression for 12 years that I really don't think I had. If I did have it it was because of being an undiagnosed narcoleptic and not due to some organic thing in my body. If you are sleeping 10 hours a day and still fall asleep in a quiet situation, you sound pathologically sleepy. My doctor told me you should not need to sleep in the daytime (after having sleep 8-10 hours) unless you have a sleep disorder - it's not normal to be that tired otherwise. Good luck!
